I wrote this in 5th grade, on September 9th, 1999. Unedited. I'm going to write my 2011 autobiography later this week.
Autobiography speech
Hi, my name
is Peter Lu. Most people think that’s my real name, but it isn’t. My real name
is Jia Long, which means good dragon.
I was born
on July 3, 1989, in a small town called Shiyan city, China. The morning before
I was born, my mom had to go to the hospital, but my dad had our car, so my mom
had to stop a nearby car and ask them to take us to the hospital. The doctor
said to my mom that if he didn’t push her stomach, the baby wouldn’t come out.
That’s how I almost never got born.
The first
word I said was “welcome”. I was 2 months old when I said my first word. My
grandmother just came back from Wuhan, a city in China. When she came back, she
asked me, “Do you welcome me?” I said, “ Welcome! Welcome!”
I went to Calgary, Canada when I was 11 months
old to join my father who was studying for his doctor’s degree. One day, when I
was about 2 years old, I went to my father’s office. He asked, “ Do you want to
play some computer games?” I said, “Yes”. “Okay, then grab the mouse!” my
father said. I yelled, “Where’s the mouse? ”And quickly hid behind my father’s
back.
I got my name, Peter Lu, by doing
my first exercise book at 4 years of age. In that book, there were two
characters named Peter and Jane. Since I didn’t have an English name and I
liked it, I chose the name Peter.
My dad found a job in Cupertino,
California in 1995, so we moved here. I attended 1st grade at Garden
Gate, and my 1st grade teacher was Mrs. Peterson.
My best vacation was a trip to Maui
for a week. We went to a plantation, and we saw all different kinds of fruits
on their tour. Later, we went to see the volcano craters. I went snorkeling
with my dad after that. It was fun, because we saw all different kinds of fish.
On the way back to the hotel, we saw a lot of pineapple fields.
Now I am 38,000,000 seconds old, I
collect Lego, coins, and stamps. I like to play chess, basketball, board games,
and poker.
When I grow up, I want to design games
for children.
Adorable!
